നഴ്സുമാരുടെ വേതന വര്‍ദ്ധനവ്; എം‌പിമാർക്ക് നിവേദനം നൽകണമെന്ന അഭ്യര്‍ത്ഥനയുമായി യുക്മ

സജീഷ് ടോം (യുക്മ നാഷണൽ പി ആർ ഒ & മീഡിയ കോർഡിനേറ്റർ): യുക്മയുടെ നേതൃത്വത്തില്‍ നഴ്സുമാരുടെ വേതനവര്‍ദ്ധനവ് ഉള്‍പ്പെടെയുള്ള ആവശ്യങ്ങള്‍ ഉന്നയിച്ച് ബ്രിട്ടീഷ് പാര്‍ലമെന്റ് അംഗങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് നിവേദനം നല്‍കിയിരുന്നതില്‍ കൂടുതലാളുകളെ ക്ഷണിച്ച് കൊള്ളുന്നു. എം.പിമാര്‍ക്ക് നിവേദനം നല്‍കുന്നതിനായുള്ള കാമ്പയ്നില്‍ ഇതുവരെ പങ്കെടുത്തത് 480 വ്യത്യസ്ത്യ പാര്‍ലമന്റ് മണ്ഡലങ്ങളില്‍ താമസിക്കുന്ന നഴ്സുമാര്‍ ഉള്‍പ്പെടെയുള്ള മലയാളി ആരോഗ്യപ്രവര്‍ത്തകരാണ്. ബ്രിട്ടണില്‍ ആകെയുള്ള 650 എംപിമാരില്‍ 480 പേരിലേയ്ക്കും അതത് മണ്ഡലങ്ങളില്‍ താമസിക്കുന്നവരെക്കൊണ്ട് തന്നെ നിവേദനം നല്‍കുവാന്‍ സാധിച്ചുവെന്നുള്ള ചരിത്ര നേട്ടമാണ് യുക്മ ഇതിലൂടെ കൈവരിച്ചത്. ഇനിയും ബാക്കിയുള്ള 170 പാര്‍ലമെന്റ് മണ്ഡലങ്ങളില്‍ വോട്ടര്‍മാരായിട്ടുള്ള മലയാളികളെയാണ് ഈ സംരഭത്തില്‍ പങ്കാളികളാവുന്നതിന് വേണ്ടി ക്ഷണിക്കുന്നത്. പരമാവധി എംപിമാരിലേയ്ക്ക് ഈ വിഷയം എത്തിക്കുന്നതിന് വേണ്ടിയുള്ള ശ്രമങ്ങളാണ് ഇതിനോട് അനുബന്ധിച്ച് നടന്നു വരുന്നത്.

യുക്മയുടെ ദേശീയ ഭാരവാഹികള്‍, റീജിയണല്‍ ഭാരവാഹികള്‍, നഴ്സസ് ഫോറം നേതാക്കള്‍ മറ്റ് പോഷകസംഘടനാ ഭാരവാഹികള്‍, അംഗ അസോസിയേഷന്‍ ഭാരവാഹികള്‍ എന്നിവരുടെ സഹകരണത്തോടെയാണ് 480 എം.പിമാരിലേയ്ക്ക് നിവേദനം അവരുടെ വോട്ടര്‍മാരായ മലയാളി ആരോഗ്യപ്രവര്‍ത്തകരിലൂടെ സമര്‍പ്പിക്കുവാന്‍ സാധിച്ചത്. ഇനിയുള്ള 170 പാര്‍ലമെന്റ് മണ്ഡലങ്ങളില്‍ പലതിലും മലയാളികള്‍ താമസിക്കുന്നുണ്ടെങ്കിലും അസോസിയേഷനുകളും മറ്റും സജീവമല്ലാത്തതിനാല്‍ അവരെപ്പറ്റിയുള്ള വിവരങ്ങള്‍ ലഭ്യമല്ല. താഴെ പറയുന്ന പാര്‍ലമെന്റ് മണ്ഡലങ്ങളില്‍ വോട്ടര്‍മാരായിട്ടുള്ള ആളുകളെയാണ് നിവേദനം നല്‍കുന്നതിനായി വോളണ്ടിയര്‍മാരായി മുന്നോട്ട് വരുവാന്‍ ക്ഷണിക്കുന്നത്.
